Preventing False Accusations
Hello. My name is Moises Flores, founder and president of the Innocent’s Guide – a nonprofit dedicated to educating the public about false accusations and how to prevent getting convicted for crimes that you DID NOT commit. I’ll keep this brief. I was falsely accused of burglary of a habitation. If you want to hear the entire story, the video is there for you. The police officers arrested me at work in front of my coworkers and boss. In Texas, where it occurred, I could have faced up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Fortunately, the felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor and dismissed altogether later. Others haven’t been so lucky. I’m certain you have heard several stories of innocent people serving years and years in prison for something they didn’t commit. No innocent person should ever be convicted of a crime they didn’t commit.
The reason why I created this nonprofit is to try to prevent that from happening. If I had fully understood my rights, there was a good chance I wouldn’t have been arrested in the first place. I don’t want anyone to go through the mental anguish of a false accusation. By taking this course, you are a step in the right direction to protecting your freedom. I must state that this course is not legal advice and it will never replace the advice that you will get from a qualified attorney. Fortunately, the course does give you some pointers on how to find one. I hope you learn something from this course if you decide to take it. The information will always be there for you and we’ll update it as the legal landscape changes. Stay free everybody.
